Background Inside Platform Through Architectural Influence
Electromagnetic Levitation
“Background Inside Platform Through Architectural Influence,” orchestrates a mesmerizing dialogue between the golden ages of Italian architecture and the frontiers of contemporary physics. At the heart of the installation lies an electromagnetic levitation platform, where a luminescent sponges floats in a state of perpetual, silent suspension. The organic object—defies gravity as it hovers over a base of black crystal, which has been precision-shaped to follow the geometric perimeters of the choosen Architecture.
In this specific iteraction, Pozzi focuses on the architectural blueprints of the Basilica di San Luca and San Petronio Duomo both in Bologna. By translating these historical floor plans into a dark, reflective void, the artist transforms spiritual architectures into tangible gravitational fields. The result is a visual metaphor where the weight of architectural history meets the weightlessness of the future, inviting us to perceive space not just as a physical structure, but as a dynamic field of energy and information.
