Conceived as a lecture performance, “Contemporary Art in the Era of Quantum Gravity and Multi-Messenger Cosmology” is a seminal work by Luca Pozzi, first presented at TEDxRoma 2019. Staged within the futuristic architecture of the Fuksas NUVOLA Convention Center, the performance was developed specifically for the SOCIETY 5.0 framework—a vision of a human-centric future where technology and identity converge to create a more aware and balanced state of coexistence.

The work is structured around twenty-two PowerPoint slides, which Pozzi treats not as mere visual aids, but as distinct phases of a “progressive generational hybridization.” Through these stages, the artist navigates the collapse of traditional boundaries, merging the tangible world of analog experience with the ethereal nature of the digital, and the deterministic laws of classical physics with the probabilistic mysteries of quantum mechanics.

At its core, the performance addresses the urgent questions of our era: how can we redefine human identity during a relentless digital transformation? By placing the human being back at the center of the technological narrative, Pozzi’s lecture acts as an artistic guide for the 21st century. It suggests that by embracing the complexities of modern cosmology and the interconnectedness of multi-messenger signals—both cosmic and digital—we can find a new equilibrium. Central to this vision is a radical ontological shift: the realization that we are not merely humans who use information and instrumentalize it for our own purposes; rather, we are information in motion.
