Perimeter Institute

This photographic documentation captures the windows of the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, Ontario, framing them from a uniquely internal perspective.

The project was born in 2012, during Luca Pozzi’s time at the Perimeter Institute as an Artist Guest—a key chapter in his self-described “interdisciplinary pilgrimage” that also led him to prestigious institutions like the Albert Einstein Institute in Golm, Penn State University, the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) in Madrid, and the Centre de Physique Théorique at Aix-Marseille Université in Luminy.

This body of work focuses entirely on the architecture of the windows. Captured from deep within the daily life of the scientific community. In this case, the documentation wasn’t just about recording a view, but about teleporting these specific architectural apertures into contemporary art museums. By doing so, the photos act as connective gates, creating a portal that allows the public to look out through the exact same visual thresholds used by scientists as they contemplate the mysteries of the universe.
