Inspired by the microscopic dimensions being investigated by CMS (compact muon solenoid) of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Geneva, the Red Detector series is composed by a dodecagonal anodized aluminium surface with 17 aluminium modules curved by hands and 34 ping-pong balls in magnetic suspension, in order to create a floating tridimensional pattern.
