Strings & Loops

Each sculpture of the “Strings & Loops serie” is composed of one 150×2.5 cm-long almond-patterned aluminum bars, intricately intertwinedin order to reduce elasticity and put into direct communication their pole through the magnetic traction of two colored ping-pong balls, which form a floating chromatic configuration. These spheres do not touch the metal; instead, they hover in a state of perpetual tension, held by wires and invisible forces that mirror the microscopic vibrations theorized at the core of all matter.

In the scientific context of String Theory, the work acts as a macroscopic manifestation of the “strings” themselves—one-dimensional filaments whose specific vibrational frequencies determine the identity of particles and forces.
