TIME GRAVITY

“Time Gravity,” open to the public from June until November 2025 at the Chianti Multi-functional Observatory and San Michele Arcangelo in Semifonte, is the second edition of the biennial art and science project Arte nel Paesaggio (Art in the Landscape). Curated by Giada Rodani and Jade Vlietstra, the project intertwines contemporary artistic and scientific research with the evocative power of the Tuscan landscape. The works unfold across two symbolic sites in the Chianti region—the Chianti Multi-functional Observatory and the Dome of San Michele Arcangelo in Semifonte—transforming the territory into an open-air museum where nature, time, and art engage in a profound dialogue.

The title “Time Gravity” explores the concept of TIME, representing the rhythm of the universe and the cycles of nature—in continuous, endless flux—while also examining the “time fragment” as a qualitative and relative value. This sparks a reflection on morphology: not as a concept of form that is fixed or finished, but rather—much like the landscape itself—as something eternally in the making.
