“The Rosetta Mission 2024” is inspired by the homonymous space mission of E.S.A., the European Spatial Agency, that took place between 2004 and 2016. It represents the 3D reconstruction of the 67.P Churyumov Gerasimenko comet, transformed from a physical celestial body into a digital convergence point for different disciplines. A floating island hidden inside a digital sculpture called “Third Eye Prophecy For Eternal Peace” originally geolocalized, as an augmented reality event, in Venice (Giardini Biennial 45°25’45.0″N12°21’27.3″E) and in Palestine (Rafah city 31°17’57.4″N34°14’09.7″E). The “RM2022” is a temporary free Hub, without specific, political, religious, and geographical coordinates, suitable for interdisciplinary contributions and social interaction: a meeting point for activists, artists, philosophers, and scientists. A place for a hybrid public that overcomes the linguistic and physical boundaries in the post-pandemic era. A metaplace suspended in time, able to teleport the travelers into an immersive space conceived as a new hyper-technological, collaborative environment. The project aims to be a metaphorical digital Rosetta Stone accessible 2,200 years after the archaeological find that annihilated the Babel Tower purposes. A relational tool that allows information to flow and connect the people of the world. The “RM2024 ” takes place as meditative VR Game Engine at six degrees of freedom developed in Unity.
Respect to the previous versions (2020 / 2022 /2023) the “Rosetta Mission 2024” focuses on nuclear disarmament and global peace problematics, proposing a Meta-Conference for Peace called “SHELTER ISLAND” generated digitalizing talks from the following speakers: Carlo Rovelli, Roger Penrose, Shoini Ghose, Raymond Laflamme, Katie Mack, Hildign Neilson, Savas Dimopoulos, Pedro Vieira and Neil Turok realized in collaboration with The Perimeter Institute of Waterloo (Ontario CA). In addition to the scientific contributions the “Rosetta Mission 2024” includes the following interdisciplinary interventions by: Michelangelo Pistoletto (artist), Angelo Plessas (artist & TechnoShaman), Monia Ben Hamouda (Artist & Activist), Patrizio di Massimo (Artist), Vincenzo Agnetti (Artist), Greta Thunberg (Activist / Tribute) and the LGBTQ++ Community (Tribute).
